about austin's pad

Austin's Pad was started sometime in 1999, after the release of Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me. Below you'll find screenshots of previous versions of Austin's Pad along with buttons that went along with them. I no longer have a copy of the first version, but I quickly threw together a screenshot of what I remember it looking like. If you're interested in taking a trip back in time, check out the Internet Archive Wayback Machine. It is not completely accurate, but still fun to mess around with. Enjoy!

Version 1

circa mid-1999

The very first Austin's Pad. As you can tell from the screenshot, I don't exactly remember what it looked like. I do however remember it being in frames, and a fuzzy orange left-side navigation bar.

Version 2

circa late-1999 - February 2002

Under this version, I expanded Austin's Pad. I opened several new sections, including articles, interviews, games, triva and more. This is also the time that I started updating the site on a near-daily basis.

Version 3

February 2002 - September 2007

This is probably the version you are most familiar with if you've visited this site more than once. The site had expanded quite a bit (content-wise) up to the release of Austin Powers in Goldmember. After seeing Austin Powers in Goldmember, I more or less left the site for dead as I was not real thrilled with the movie.

Version 4

September 2007 - now

After watching Austin Powers in Goldmember again, I had a change of heart concerning Austin Powers. Viewing the movie in-context, and not having any real expectations, really changes the experience. With the recurring news about another possible sequel, I designed a new version of the site and registered austinspad.net.
